A Practical Bankability Checklist for Overseas Solar

Practical guidance for international solar project development, integration and delivery.

Bankability is created by alignment across technical design, contractual responsibility, equipment selection, documentation and delivery risk. It is not a label added at the financing stage.

1. Define a credible project basis

Confirm site conditions, grid requirements, energy yield assumptions, permits, land status and the commercial structure before equipment is locked.

2. Align equipment with financing requirements

Evaluate manufacturer track record, applicable certifications, warranty terms, service capability and compatibility with the complete system—not individual price alone.

3. Clarify EPC and supply interfaces

Assign responsibility for design inputs, procurement, logistics, installation, commissioning, performance testing and warranty coordination.

4. Build a controlled document package

Maintain consistent specifications, drawings, data sheets, certificates, test records and commercial schedules throughout procurement.

5. Plan lifecycle support

Define spare parts, monitoring, escalation routes and warranty execution before commercial close.
